This is an easy-to-understand, highly motivating book written by an average American FOR average Americans who want to make a greater-than-average difference in this country and society. It is extremely thought-provoking and hits the nail on the head when it comes to clearly diagnosing the current state of our federal government and what we can do as citizens to effect positive and lasting change. I highly recommend this book to everyone. If you enjoyed Glenn Beck's Common Sense The Case Against an Out-of-Control Government, Inspired by Thomas Paine, then you will certainly enjoy and benefit from Mr. Duke's book as well. I sure did! A very refreshing read.
"Spread This Wealth" is a consequential book written for such a time as this. More than just espousing conservative ideas, "Spread This Wealth" is a treatise of the very principles of the liberties and freedoms framed by a Constitution and inextricably tied to our Judeo-Christian heritage. Duke points out that because of America's "inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," America became that shining city on a hill.
The author puts forth a bold "five-step plan" for rescuing America from an enemy more insidious than any in uniform the silent, hardly noticed, creeping menace of government. His central theme is that America's greatest wealth is not monetary, but the intangible spirit of liberty "The more we have allowed our government to do for us, the more of our `wealth' we have allowed government to take from us."

This book changed our view of politics. From bystanders, it motivated us to get involved. Jesse Duke's style is a delight to absorb, with expression and visualization that captures your imagination and motivation to do something, rather than just sit back and watch the history of America change before our eyes. This is a "must read" or "must listen to" book. In my case, my wife and I bought the audio version. We listened to it while doing local grocery shopping (even short spurts of information were captivating) and then finished it while taking a several hour drive (never losing interest, as we kept learning and thinking while we heard Mr. Duke explain his topic so well). We could not "put it down," enjoying the style and content until the book was done. Get this book, read or listen to it, and tell others about it. The book will change your views or will inspire you to get involved.
This inspiring book gave me hope that I CAN make a difference in our country. I recommend it to anyone looking for a clear picture of our government today, how we got there and what concerned citizens can do to effect positive change. It's not too late!
